Thank you to everyone who has been following the blog hop for Quilts with an Angle, and thank you to my fellow bloggers for all their work writing reviews.
I hope that you have learned some more about the book and my triangle grid patchwork technique.
If you haven't yet, do visit all of the blogs listed below to see what they have to say!
As you have seen, Quilts with an Angle is full of interesting projects to make, with 15 quilts in total. But not just that, I included lots of tips and techniques for piecing 60 degree shapes and also tables for cutting the different shapes with a triangle ruler - who knew you could cut a hexagon with just two cuts?
So whether you are a beginner, scared of triangles, or want to extend your techniques, there is something for you. I hope you enjoy the book and try some of the projects, and I would love to see what you make!
You can post photos of your work in my facebook group, Sheila Christensen's Triangle Quilters. Join here.
April...
This week my big box of books arrived from C&T Publishing! Its hard to describe what it feels like to receive your own book, all beautifully designed and photographed by the publishers. There is a lovely foreword written by my friend and great inspiration Kathy Doughty of Material Obsession.
I have written the chapters as lessons in how to cut and sew each of six different shapes - triangles, diamonds, parallelograms, trapezoids, hexagons and jewels , plus a chapter on strip piecing and one on designing your own blocks.
There are patterns for 15 quilts included.
You can order my book now:
From C&T Publishing in the USA
or from your local quilt shop or bookseller
I am so excited to announce that I have written a book!
Quilts with an Angle - A Field Guide contains fifteen quilt projects and has lots of how-to photos and explanations.
It will be released in February 2019 by C&T Publishing - look out for it in your favourite quilt shop, book store and online!
2017 is going to be my year of the Triangle! Will it be yours too?
Triangle patchwork blocks are so much fun to cut and sew - they come together really quickly and are a lot easier than they look!
I'm also excited that the Sampler quilt has been accepted into Quiltcon, so if you are going to Savannah in February do look out for it.
To celebrate the launch of my pattern, I am running a Quiltalong on Instagram starting on January 7th 2017. See further down this entry for details.
The pattern for the Modern Triangle Sampler is now available in my Craftsy store here and also from Quilters' Lane at www.quilterslane.co.nz. I will have physical copies available in the shop also.
The pattern is about 80 pages long and includes detailed instructions on how to cut all the shapes in the blocks, 25 block patterns and also finishing instructions for putting together a sampler quilt.
Welcome to the Totally Triangle Quiltalong!
