Here is the latest news from Quilters' Lane:
Beginners Patchwork and Quilting starts on Friday July 25th from 10am to 12pm and runs for 6 weeks.
Inner City with Joanne Farmery - Saturday August 2nd 10am to 4pm. This class is perfect if you are looking for a travel project that you can carry with you as the quilt is all hand pieced. Also you will be using your scraps so there is no initial outlay on fabric for this quilt.
I am also updating the class list again and have added another Free Motion Class and Flat Mat Bag class. More classes will be added soon , please see our class list for details.
This month we have specials on our computer aided quilt design software. EQ7 is the package I use to design all of my Mystery and Shop Hop quilts. Normally $385, it is marked down to $299 for July only. Quilt Wizard is a simplified version of EQ and allows you to work out your block sizes, sashings, borders etc and to print out block instructions. Normally $59, reduced to $39 for July.
Brother NS10 demo machines. We still have a few NS10 machines that were used at the Handmade Festival. Reduced from $499 to $375. These are great little machines and the accessories are fantastic - less than $60 for the walking foot - you can even get an extension table.
We have the Masterquilters raffle quilt on display inthe shop, tickets are $2 each. Do come in and take a look.
If you are doing the Masterquilters retreat class with Anna Williams come in and look at our border prints and fancy stripes, we have lots to choose from.
Masterquilters is the Wairarapa's Quilting club and meets on the first Thursday of the month from 7.30pm at the Idea Rooms in Bentley Street, Masterton., if you would like to find out more please ask us in the shop or come along to a meeting.
CAPITAL QUILTERS Exhibition
A small group from the Wairarapa attends Capital Quilters in Lower Hutt who are having their exhibition this weekend at Sacred Herart College (open till 4pm Sunday).
Congratulations to Pam Lorimer, our Paint It Stamp It Stitch It Tutor, who came away with a massive haul of EIGHT awards from the Exhibition opening night on Friday. Also to Lyn Bell who won three merit awards. With Beverly Featherstone also winning a prize we completed a 100% record for the Wairarapa members! (I did also get a prize for one of my little 12x12 quilts :)) If you did not get a chance to go to the exhibition I am sure you will be able to see some of Pam's quilts at the Masterquilters Exhibition in September.
Part Six of our 2014 Mystery is now available at Quilters' Lane. Please collect your block by July 20th, thank you.
Thursdays are our open day for stitching - bring along your UFOs or projects you are stuck on, and enjoy the company of others and refreshments on tap - just a gold coin donation.
It is great to see all the quilts that people are producing and to follow your progress from classes. We love to see your work and don't forget we can help with advice if you are stuck. We have a great range of wide backing fabrics and lots of different battings to choose from as well as a wide range of threads for quilting, to help you complete your masterpiece.
Look forward to seeing you at Quilters' Lane
