It’s been another great month of quilting. Joanne Farmery’s Inner City class was a highlight, I have put photos of the blocks made on my facebook page.
Welcome to Gill, Lisa, Lyn, Ruth, Carol and Glenys who started their beginners course last month, and congratulations to Carol, Kath, Annette and Eileen who completed their course.
The next six week beginners class will be on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm, starting on October 14th. To register, call in at Quilters’ Lane.

Part Seven of our 2014 Mystery is now available at Quilters' Lane. We are now busy preparing for the Reveal Days – November 8th and 15th – when you can come and see the quilt and optionally stay and sew. The 8th is now fully booked for stitching, but we do still have places for the Reveal and morning tea, cost $5.
Places for stitching are still available on November 15th at $25 including lunch.
Yes we can announce that we are planning to do another Mystery Quilt in 2015. I have now completed the design and am working on colour combinations. There will be a slight difference next year as you will be able to opt to make a single or double sized quilt. Do get thinking now as there will be limited numbers available of each type. If you are interested in doing the Mystery again – or for the first time – next year please let us know as it will help us to plan numbers.
The Masterquilters exhibition is coming up – it will be held at the Carterton Events Centre from September 20th to 28th.
Quilters’ Lane will be having a stall at the exhibition on both of the weekends.
Masterquilters is the Wairarapa's Quilting club and meets on the first Thursday of the month from 7.30pm at the Idea Rooms in Bentley Street, Masterton., if you would like to find out more please ask us in the shop or come along to a meeting.
CAPITAL QUILTERS Exhibition
Those of you who went to Lower Hutt to see the exhibition were in for a treat – over 200 quilts were on show. I was very excited to win the last prize given out on opening night – Catherine MacDonald’s Judges Award, for my 12x12 quilt called Purple Haze. Now I have a serious shopping expedition to do with my prize vouchers!
We are lucky to be having the National Symposium at Palmerston North in January. As I am going to be a tutor we will not be having a stall in the merchant’s mall, but if you are travelling to Palmerston North it’s a nice trip to come down to Masterton to visit the shop. You could make a Wairarapa day of it and visit one of the local wineries for lunch! I’ve also heard there is going to be a big Wairarapa Golf event on for those who have golfing partners.
Thursdays are our open day for stitching - bring along your UFOs or projects you are stuck on, and enjoy the company of others and refreshments on tap - just a gold coin donation.
Look forward to seeing you at Quilters' Lane
